The band’s lead guitarist, Cross, added that he saw the veteran band being on the road again soon.Ragweed hit the ground running in 1994 and was a popular rock and country draw with its Red Dirt mix of classic Southern rock and country.”We come from a Southern rock based sound,” Ragsdale said in 2005. Whichever way the music takes us is how we roll.”After the band signed a major label deal with Universal South and released their third studio album, “Cross Canadian Ragweed,” the range of their CD distribution increased dramatically, Barbour Jacket Ashby and they played over a larger section of the country and in larger venues.
While their biggest singles were “Fightin’ For,” “17,” and “Sick and Tired,” the band’s best known song is probably their live version of Gene Collier’s “Boys from Oklahoma” from “Live Loud at Billy Bob’s Texas” (2002).In 2004, Barbourjacketcanada the band released “Gravy,” which hit No. 4 on the Billboard charts, and the following year their CD “Garage” also struck a chord with listeners.Speaking of their success, Ragsdale said in 2005, “It’s definitely a dream come true. When we started out, all we wanted to do was to see if we could do this, and not do anything else, and still pay our bills.”That was our goal. And we’ve been able to do a lot more.
